Terms of Use

By using Imenko you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service. Imenko is operated by Solar Blue d.o.o. (“we”, “us”). Our privacy policy forms part of these terms.

Imenko is a Croatian baby-names reference and shortlisting tool. It lets you:

• Browse, search and filter a curated catalogue of Croatian names
• Read meanings, origins, histories, name days and notable bearers
• See how often a name was given to newborns, and how many people carry it today
• Swipe through names to build a private shortlist
• Pair with a partner and see the names you both liked

You must be at least 16 years old to use Imenko. By using it, you confirm that you are.

Imenko has no username and no password. When you first open the app it registers your device and stores a secret token on it. That token is your account.

• Anyone holding the token can act as you, so do not copy it off your device or share it
• We store only a hash of it, so we cannot recover, reissue or reset it
• If you lose it — by uninstalling, resetting the device, or restoring to a different handset — you permanently lose access to your swipes, your matches and your pairing
• In that situation the app simply registers a new, empty device

This is the trade we made in order not to ask for your email address. We think it is the right one, but you should know about it before you build up a long shortlist.

Pairing lets two people see the names they both liked. It is entirely optional.

If either of you subscribes to Imenko Pro, that one subscription covers both of you for as long as you stay paired. The Imenko Pro section below sets out what that means for each of you.

You agree to use Imenko for its intended purpose, and not to:

• Attempt to overload, disrupt or circumvent the service, including its rate limits
• Systematically scrape, crawl or bulk-download the name catalogue
• Reverse engineer, decompile or tamper with the app or its API, beyond what applicable law permits
• Attempt to access another user's device account, swipes or matches
• Use the service to harass anyone, or to send invite codes to people who have not asked for them
• Resell, redistribute or republish the catalogue as a competing dataset or product

Our API is documented publicly so that the mobile app can be built against it. That documentation is not a licence to use it in your own product. Requests are rate limited, and we may block clients that abuse the service.

The only content you can submit is a message through the support form. When you send one:

• You confirm it is your own and that it contains nothing unlawful, abusive or infringing
• You allow us to read it, act on it, and quote it internally for support and product purposes
• You should not include passwords, payment details or sensitive personal information — we do not need any of them
• We may delete messages that are abusive or that misuse the form

Imenko compiles its catalogue from published public sources:

• The Croatian Bureau of Statistics — newborn name counts by year, and the 2021 Census count of living bearers
• A publicly published atlas of Croatian personal names by county
• The Croatian name-day calendar and the Bishops’ Conference liturgical calendar
• Public reference works on name meanings, origins and history

Imenko is free to download, and its core features are free to use. An optional subscription, Imenko Pro, unlocks additional features.

You install Imenko from the Apple App Store or Google Play. These terms are an agreement between you and us — the stores are not parties to it — but each store's own terms also apply to your use of it, and Apple requires us to state the following.

• This agreement is between you and Solar Blue d.o.o. alone. Apple and Google are not parties to it and are not responsible for Imenko or its content
• Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for Imenko. Ask us instead — our contact details are at the end of this page
• If Imenko fails to conform to a warranty that cannot be disclaimed, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation of any kind
• We, not Apple, are responsible for any claim that Imenko or your use of it infringes intellectual property rights, and for any product liability, consumer-protection or regulatory claim relating to it
• You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated by it as supporting terrorism, and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties
• Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you
• You must also comply with any applicable third-party terms of service when using Imenko

We aim to keep Imenko running, but:

• We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability
• Maintenance, provider outages and updates may interrupt the service
• Features may be added, changed or removed
• We may discontinue the service; if we do, we will give reasonable notice and will not charge for a period we cannot deliver

You may stop using Imenko at any time by uninstalling it, and you can ask us to erase your data as described in the privacy policy.

• We may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these terms, in particular the acceptable-use clause
• Where a breach is not serious and can be put right, we will normally warn you first
• If we terminate your access without cause while you hold a paid subscription, we will refund the unused part of that period
• Ending your access does not affect rights or obligations that arose beforehand

The Imenko name, design, code, and the way the catalogue is compiled and presented, belong to us. The underlying facts do not.

• Raw statistics are public data and we claim no ownership of them; we credit the Bureau of Statistics wherever its figures appear
• Our selection, arrangement, editorial text and translations are ours and are protected as such
• You may use the app and the site for personal, non-commercial purposes
• You may not republish the catalogue, in whole or in substantial part, as your own dataset or product
• If you hold rights in material we have used and believe it is used improperly, contact us and we will review it and, where appropriate, remove it

Imenko is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement.

In particular, we make no representation that any name shown is suitable, registrable or appropriate for your child, and we accept no responsibility for a naming decision.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of data, or loss of profit arising from your use of or inability to use Imenko. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited under applicable law. If you are a consumer, your mandatory statutory rights are unaffected by anything written here.

We may revise these terms. The revision date at the top reflects the last substantive change. If a revision materially affects your rights we will notify you in the app before it takes effect, and continuing to use Imenko afterwards means you accept the revised terms.

These terms are governed by Croatian law. If you are a consumer you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country in which you live, and you may bring proceedings before the courts there. Otherwise the courts of Croatia have exclusive jurisdiction.

The EU's online dispute resolution platform was discontinued on 20 July 2025 and no longer exists. If you are a consumer and we cannot settle a complaint between us, you can find the out-of-court dispute resolution bodies approved for your country through the European Commission's consumer redress portal at consumer-redress.ec.europa.eu.

• If a clause here turns out to be unenforceable, the rest stays in force and that clause applies as closely to its original intent as the law allows
• If we do not enforce a clause straight away, we do not give up the right to enforce it later
• You may not transfer your rights under these terms to anyone else. We may transfer ours if Imenko is sold or reorganised, and doing so will not reduce your rights
• These terms and the privacy policy are the whole agreement between us about Imenko, and replace anything said before them
• These terms are published in Croatian and English. If the two differ, the Croatian version governs for users in Croatia and the English version elsewhere
